Hanover spoils homecoming, 41-13
The Bluffton University football team hosted Hanover College (4-2, 4-0 HCAC) on Saturday, October 13th. The Beavers (4-3, 3-2 HCAC) started quickly as the Beavers led early 10-0. After two Hanover touchdowns, Austin Sweeney hit his second field goal of the day to bring the Beavers within one. It was all Panthers after that however, as they outscored the Beavers 26-3 in the final quarter and a half. Offensively the Beavers were led by Nick Sheehan who was 15-30 for 248 yards. Bluffton will have a bye this week before resuming their HCAC schedule October 27th at Anderson University; kickoff is slated for 1:30pm.
Volleyball drops two on homecoming weekend
The Bluffton volleyball team (12-12, 2-3 HCAC) hosted Hanover College Saturday, as the Beavers lost the match 3-0. On Sunday, Transylvania came to town defeating the volleyball team 3-1. Currently the Beavers sit in sixth place in the HCAC, with Transylvania at a perfect 6-0 in conference play. Wednesday October 17th the Beavers will travel to Earlham College to take on the Quakers, the game is set to start at 7pm.
Men’s Soccer falls to Hanover 5-0
Offensive struggles lead to a 5-0 loss to host Hanover College on Saturday afternoon. The Beavers (2-10, 0-4 HCAC) will try to get the ball rolling this Wednesday October 15th when they host Manchester College. The match is set to start at 4pm.
Women’s Soccer drops 5-1 contest
The women’s soccer (3-8-1, 1-2-1 HCAC) team traveled to Hanover College Saturday. The Beavers struggled to find the back of the net as they lost 5-1. Scoring Bluffton’s only goal was Maddie Moore (Linn Grove, Ind./South Adams). The Beavers return to action Tuesday October 16th when they host the Manchester Spartans. The game is set to take place at 4pm.
Women’s tennis losses 9-0
The women’s tennis team finished out their season against Transylvania on October 6th with a 9-0 loss. It dropped the Beavers to 0-14, and 0-8 in the HCAC.
